Elliptec Module R40
The Elliptec Motor is the perfect solution for mass applications presupposing high-precisely and high-dynamically actuations.
In order to facilitate the use of this unique drive even in small production run applications, the Elliptec Module R40 has been designed to integrate an Elliptec motor including drive wheel, its control electronics and a high-precision position sensor in a compact plastic housing.
The precise control electronics enabling up to 1200 steps per revolution combined with optimized acceleration and deceleration requiring only milliseconds, might offer unimagined opportunities for your individual application.
Depending on its installed software version and the individual application profile, the module may be delivered offering either DC motor- or stepper motor characteristics but with a substantially enhanced functionality. Therefore the modules may optionally be controlled by a simple analog input voltage (DC) or by a pulse-and-direction activation which is state of the art in the range of stepper motors. Furthermore the device offers the interpretation of diverse signals (e. g. position feedback). Individual motion profiles may also be programmed by the user. If requested, the quadrature signals of the sensor system may directly be switched to an external connection.
A control unit including USB port and intuitive graphic user interface is optionally available and allows for activation of the R40S step motions via PC. The direct control of the module via serial interface is another possible option.
The pros at a glance
Maximum speed of approx. 250 UPM
- reached after only a few milliseconds
Integrated electronics including intelligent microcontroller
- recognizes different motion profiles automatically
Microcontroller enables intermediate storage of steps
- no step loss even at high load
Holds positions by aid of holding torque up to 10mNm
- even when switched-off
Integrated position sensor (*only included in high-precision version Art. No. MR40S-HR-002)
- enables accurate capture of motions by using a resolution of 1.200 steps per revolution – this value is equivalent to an angular resolution up to 0,3°
Simple standardized interfaces
- allows for control by only two connections
Mechanical drive may be adapted by:
- integrated drive wheel
- cog wheel integrated in drive wheel
- optionally available shaft adaptor
